Jelly Roll Celebrates Utah’s Show and Announces Park City Home Purchase
One of the biggest names in current country music may be back at Beehive State soon - and not just for a one-off performance, but to stay.
Jelly Roll, voted Country Music Association’s Artist of the Year in 2023, kicked off their "Beautifully Broken" tour on Tuesday night at the Delta Center.
During the show, he expressed his enthusiasm for the experience in a fully packed event.
"I really couldn’t have asked for a better start to this tour," said Jelly Roll. "I couldn’t have asked for a better crowd tonight, Salt Lake City. Thank you for making the first show an absolute success."
However, his praise was not limited to the audience.
"This place is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. I’ve been here for four days at the Maverik Center, rehearsing for this tour," he commented. " I’ve been all over the area. I’ve been to Park City, Heber, West Valley and Salt Lake City."
Then he made a revelation that further cheered the audience: "I have decided that I will buy a house in Park City."
This statement, naturally, led the audience to delirium.
Jelly Roll would join another musician and collaborator, Post Malone, in calling Utah - at least partially - home.
While they worked together on Malone’s "Losers," it is unclear how much, if any, of Malone’s influence on Jelly Roll’s affection for Utah.
Just like Jelly Roll, Malone also often praises Utah. He has described the state as an "oasis" away from the Hollywood hustle and bustle, helping to relieve the stress that can arise from celebrity life.
